Erasure is 'effing FANTASTIC!!!

You know what, all throughout the 1980s and the first half of the '90s, Erasure was almost the greatest band around! They may have only had three hits in America ("Chains of Love", "A Little Respect", and "Always") but most critics and dancehall denizens caught on to them early and gave them their props. Then, in the latter half of the 1990s and early 00's, they kinda went astray. They were never terrible, but albums like their self-titled effort and "Loveboat" just didn't impress like they used to.

But you know what? The last three years have brought about an Erasure renaissance! "Nightbird" from about two years ago was easily the best thing they had done since "Chorus" in 1990/1991 and ranks in their top three CDs ever. Earlier this year, they released "Light at the End of the Tunnel" which also blew me away. I don't know how these boys are still writing songs this good! Vince Clarke is still a techno-pop gawd at the top of his game! Don't believe me - check out "I Could Fall in Love with You".

You'll come around!
