October is here!

Firstly, Happy Birthday (yesterday) to my Dad! I had a great time with my parents last night to celebrate the occasion. After mowing my lawn all summer, he deserves all the B-day accolades he can get!!

Well, tomorrow sees the release of the first single from the upcoming INXS CD - the first one featuring new lead singer JD Fortune. The song "Pretty Vegas", which received considerable airplay on "Rockstar: INXS" last month, will be sent to radio and available from iTunes. It's a very catchy song and with the promotion they received from the TV show, it has the chance to be the biggest INXS single in a long, long time. Will they pull it off? Who knows - the music industry is very different than it was when INXS released their last CD. Should be interesting to see what happens and I wish them the best of luck.

A sure sign that I'm getting old:

Picked up the 3-disc Genesis greatest hits collection last week and I have been enjoying it (except for some of the really hokey 90s ballads.) Pre-"Invisible Touch", these guys were a pretty interesting band. "Abacab", "Home By The Sea", "Counting Out Time" - all cool tunes.

New TV season has started. I had lost a lot of interest in "Lost" - mainly because I had been away from it so long. The first two episodes this season have pulled me right back in. Great stuff - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. "Desperate Housewives" has been fun, especially last night's episode where Susan backed her car into Edie. I couldn't stop laughing! But there is currently a great injustice at NBC and that is the fact that Scrubs still doesn't have a premiere date for its new season. C'mon guys - this is the best of your few remaining worthwhile comedies. Give it the respect it deserves!!
